IHP is an institute of the Leibniz Association and conducts research and development of silicon-based systems and ultra high-frequency circuits and technologies including new materials. It develops innovative solutions for application areas such as wireless and broadband communication, security, medical technology, industry 4.0, automotive industry, and aerospace. IHP employs approximately 380 people. It operates a pilot line for technological developments and the preparation of high-speed circuits with 0.13/0.25 µm-SiGe-BiCMOS technologies, located in a 1500 m² cleanroom that meets the highest industrial nanotechnology requirements.

The position:

  • Research and technical lead of the research group with the focus on "Neuromorphic hardware" in IHP-site in Cottbus.
  • Strategic development of a research group and research topics enabling research results beyond state of the art, and contribution to the strategic goals of department
  • Acquisition, technical and administrative management of national and international research projects
  • Architecture development and supervising design of digital and mixed-signal neuromorphic ICs, from specification, over RTL to physical design
  • Together with the department head a joint supervision of PhD students within the group
  • Habilitation degree can be pursued and will be encouraged.

Your qualifications:

  • PhD degree in the field of electrical engineering or computer science
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in digital and mixed-signal IC design, and corresponding flows and tools
  • Background in neuromorphic architectures and AI fundamentals is highly appreciated, but not mandatory
  • Solid research experience, demonstrated over respective publications
  • Experience in project management and industry experience is considered as an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Very good English language skills.
