  Your Role...

SnT seeks to hire a Partnership Development Officer for the Technology Transfer Office (TTO). This role within the organization leads the SnT’s business development activities to acquire and manage R&D partnerships with companies and public organisations within the Strategic Research Areas of SnT: Fintech, Cybersecurity, Space Systems and IoT & Autonomous Vehicles.

As a Partnership Development Officer, you will report to the Head of Technology Transfer Office (TTO). You will be part of the TTO team and will tightly collaborate with the heads of research groups as well as with the colleagues from SnT’s administration in charge of project coordination, legal, financial, technology transfer and IP management.

  • Supporting SnT research groups during the acquisition and negotiation of collaborative research agreements with companies and public sector
  • Identifying new opportunities for research collaboration with industry including valorisation of SnT competencies and research results as well as commercialization of technologies through licensing of IP rights
  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships between research groups and partners and be their first point of contact at SnT
  • Advocating and promoting SnT’s Industry Partnership programme
  • Contributing to SnT strategy by providing input to the Head of TTO and SnT’s management team particularly regarding market intelligence
  • As part of the TTO team providing input to develop and support strategic and operational decisions including continuous improvement of working methods and processes to match ever-evolving challenges and requirements of SnT’s research community
  • Such other duties as the Head of TTO may assign

  Your Profile...

  • University degree, preferably in Engineering Sciences, Computer Science or Commercial Sciences
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen, experience and track record in one or more of SnT’s Strategic Research Areas: Fintech, Cybersecurity, Space Systems and IoT & Autonomous Vehicles
  • Solid expertise with public research organisations in managing key accounts and matching companies’ long-term technology needs with innovative solutions based on collaborative research, technology transfer and IP licensing or other valorisation pathways
  • Hands-on experience with R&D projects, appropriate national and international funding mechanisms as well as IP licensing and commercialisation opportunities to industry
  • Negotiation skills with a can-do attitude and a strong desire to make a difference
  • Ability to interact at all levels, from university management, researchers and staff to company executives
  • Fluent in English; French or German is a plus
