Biology Lab Teaching Assistant Full-Position

This position will report directly to the Dean of College of Arts and Sciences.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Assist faculty members in teaching biology lab courses.
2. Set up equipment and material for lab sessions.
3. Prepare and maintain documentation of lab inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies.
4. Arrange purchase orders for lab material and supplies, and lab budget.
5. Prepare and maintain documentation of all lab protocols and procedures, and safety rules.

EXPERIENCE, SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, microbiology, or in a closely related field from a reputable college/ university.
2. Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience. Work experience in a college/ university setting is a plus.
3. Familiarity with lab safety rules.
4. Ability to work and coordinate with faculty and other lab staff as member of a team.
5. Ability to interact effectively with students, supervise and guide them in the lab.
6. Strong computer skills, English communication skills, and good time management skills.
